該劇改編自朝井麻由美的同名隨筆作品，以“享受單身生活”為主題，江口飾演探索“單身活”的出版社員工五月女恵，“單身活”意為“積極地享受個人時間的活動”。在劇中五月將只身一人去到各種地方，享受珍貴的個人時間。
