老湯一輩子追求“飄逸”，因集資案受騙，但也是同案犯。他出獄這天，父親大壽，三弟回國，債主逼門。父親去世，把全部遺產(chǎn)交到老湯手里，讓他當(dāng)湯家的掌門人，但有兩個條件，完成不了，遺產(chǎn)捐贈社會。老湯的兒子湯姜要結(jié)婚了，對象家境較好。老湯不服氣，要掙一筆錢給兒子。不想，老湯打臺球騙錢被揭穿，他只能眼睜睜兒子當(dāng)了人家的倒插門女婿。老湯集資欠債的都是窮人，他重寫借據(jù)準(zhǔn)備還債，但他沒有錢，除非動用父親的遺產(chǎn)。老湯在送水站的工作很辛苦，完成父親的兩個條件也很困難。 慢慢的，他把浪費在“飄逸”上的聰明才智用到了正事上，也開始體會到父親讓他當(dāng)湯家掌門人的用心。最終，他團結(jié)并幫助全家人重新認(rèn)識生活，讓這筆遺產(chǎn)有了最妥當(dāng)?shù)陌才拧＠蠝K于成為一個對社會和家庭有益的人。

　　Speaking about her role in the new series, Claire Skinner, said: "I'm a huge fan of McDonald & Dodds so I'm delighted to be joining the cast as Chief Superintendent Ormond. Ormond is a quietly intimidating character so she'll be keeping McDonald & Dodds on their toes throughout this new series."

Robert Murphy has written films one and four, Robert Drummond has written film two and Kam Odedra has written film three. Directors are Robert Quinn, Isher Sahota, Ian Aryeh and Sasha Ransome.
